What you give us

Every form on this site is optional. Nothing here is collected unless you choose to fill something in.

Contact and event enquiries

The contact form collects your name, email address, phone number if you add one, the occasion you are planning, and how you heard about us. We use it to reply to you and to plan your event.

The Wine Line membership

Signing up collects your first and last name, email address, mobile number, city and state, and your chosen plan. We need the mobile number because the membership is a text line — that is the product.

Taste profile

Members can fill in a taste profile: name, phone, email, and your answers about wines you like and avoid, regions, budgets, occasions, and styles. It exists for one reason, which is to make the recommendations we send you actually fit your palate.

Newsletter and giveaways

The newsletter collects an email address. Giveaway entries collect your name, email, mobile number, and city and state, plus how you arrived at the entry page so we can tell which campaign brought you. Entering a giveaway also adds you to the newsletter, which is disclosed on the entry form itself.

Where it goes

Form submissions are written to a private Google Sheet through a Google Apps Script endpoint, and a notification email is sent to us. Access to that sheet is limited to the business owner.

• Stripe handles all membership payments. Card details are entered on Stripe’s own checkout pages and never touch this site or our servers. We receive only the confirmation that a subscription started.
• Calendly handles the free fifteen-minute call booking. The details you enter there are held by Calendly under its own privacy policy.
• Google hosts the form spreadsheet and the business email.
• Vercel hosts the site and keeps standard server logs.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the services listed on this page.

Text messages

By providing your mobile number, you agree to receive text messages from Tastings with the Glass Man as part of your membership. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Opting out ends the text service; it does not by itself cancel a paid membership, so email us if you want the subscription stopped too.

Analytics and advertising

These run only on the live site. Preview and development builds do not load them at all.

• Google Analytics 4 records which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are, and which actions are taken, using cookies. It never receives your name, email, or phone number. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on.
• The Meta (Facebook) Pixel records page views and conversions so ads can be measured and audiences built. It never receives your name, email, or phone number. You can control this in your Facebook ad settings.

Both set cookies in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and member records are kept for as long as you are a client or member, and for a reasonable period afterwards for accounting and follow-up. Giveaway entries are kept through the drawing and its confirmation. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Ask us to delete any of it and we will.

Age

This site is about wine, so it is intended for people of legal drinking age. Do not use the forms if you are under 21. Giveaways are open to entrants 21 and over only.

Your choices

Email us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Unsubscribe links are in every newsletter, and STOP works on any text.
